Just south of Placerville. Foothill mileage is hard on head gaskets and CV boots — both are our daily work.

Is the M45 Automotive Shingle Springs shop open yet?
Not yet. The Shingle Springs location is still in the works and hasn't opened. Until it does, Shingle Springs and El Dorado County Subaru owners are taken care of at our Auburn shop — 155 Borland Ave, Auburn, CA 95603, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
When will the Shingle Springs location open?
We haven't announced a date. We'd rather say that plainly than post a target we might miss. Call (530) 823-7645 or ask at your next Auburn appointment and we'll tell you exactly where the timeline sits. This page gets updated the moment there's real news.
Where can Shingle Springs Subaru owners get service right now?
At our Auburn shop, roughly 45 minutes away via US-50 and Folsom-Auburn Road, or via Highway 49 through Placerville. Loaner vehicles are available, so a service visit doesn't have to cost you the day. Plenty of El Dorado County customers have been making that drive for years.
Will Shingle Springs offer the same services as Auburn?
Maintenance, diagnostics, and repair — yes. Same ASE Certified Master Technicians, same 2-year warranty on qualifying repairs. It won't be a performance shop, though: ECU tuning, dyno work, engine builds, and machine shop work stay in Auburn, where the dyno and the machine shop live. If you want your WRX tuned, that's still an Auburn appointment.
Does M45 only work on Subarus?
Yes. Subaru is all we work on — WRX, STI, Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, Impreza, Ascent, Legacy, and BRZ. We don't take other makes, and that's the whole point: every tool, every scan tool license, and every hour of training goes into one brand. It's why we find things a general shop spends a day chasing.
